A refreshing and frothy gin cocktail with citrus-scented sugar syrup, cream, and egg whites, topped with nutmeg and lemon verbena for a delightful twist.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon loosely packed fresh lemon verbena leaves (optional)
- 1/8 orange (peel)
- 1/8 lemon (peel)
- 1/4 teaspoon orange-flower water
- 3/4 cup ice
- 1/8 cup gin
- 1/8 cup whipping cream
- 1/2 large egg white
- 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
- Freshly ground nutmeg
- Fresh lemon verbena sprig (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine water, sugar, and optional lemon verbena leaves. Use a vegetable peeler to remove the peel from the orange and lemon, adding it to the saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil, ensuring the sugar dissolves, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Allow the syrup to cool completely before stirring in the orange-flower water.
- Take 6 tablespoons of the syrup and blend it with 3 cups of ice, 1/4 cup gin, 1/4 cup cream, 1/2 egg white, and 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice in a blender until smooth and foamy. Divide the mixture among glasses. Repeat the blending process for the remaining servings.
- Sprinkle the drinks with freshly ground nutmeg and garnish with a lemon verbena sprig, if desired.
