Ingredients

  • 2 oz Jameson Irish whiskey
  • 2 tsp demerara or brown sugar
  • 6 oz freshly brewed hot coffee
  • 2 tbsp lightly whipped heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Warm a stemmed glass coffee mug by swirling boiling water inside and then discarding it.
  2. Pour the Jameson whiskey into the warmed glass, followed by adding the sugar.
  3. Fill the glass with hot coffee, leaving some space at the top.
  4. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
  5. Gently pour the lightly whipped cream over the back of a spoon to create a layer on top of the coffee.
  6. Optionally, garnish with a trimmed vanilla pod, cinnamon stick, or a grating of fresh nutmeg.
  7. Serve the coffee on a plate without a spoon and enjoy drinking it through the layer of cream.
