An authentic Irish Coffee featuring Jameson whiskey, hot coffee, sugar, and a layer of lightly whipped cream, delivering a delightful warm and comforting flavor.
Ingredients
- 2 oz Jameson Irish whiskey
- 2 tsp demerara or brown sugar
- 6 oz freshly brewed hot coffee
- 2 tbsp lightly whipped heavy cream
Instructions
- Warm a stemmed glass coffee mug by swirling boiling water inside and then discarding it.
- Pour the Jameson whiskey into the warmed glass, followed by adding the sugar.
- Fill the glass with hot coffee, leaving some space at the top.
- Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Gently pour the lightly whipped cream over the back of a spoon to create a layer on top of the coffee.
- Optionally, garnish with a trimmed vanilla pod, cinnamon stick, or a grating of fresh nutmeg.
- Serve the coffee on a plate without a spoon and enjoy drinking it through the layer of cream.
