- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cinnamon stick
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 3 large egg yolks
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon for topping (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, whisk together the whole milk, ground nutmeg, and vanilla extract.
- Add the cinnamon stick and bring the mixture to a low boil for 3-4 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar together until the yolks become pale in color.
