Ingredients

  • 1.50 tbsp sugar
  • 1.50 tbsp water
  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1 cup black cherry bourbon or bourbon
  • 1 cup sparkling water, chilled
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint sprigs

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar and water, then heat and stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup of mint. Let it stand for 1 hour, then remove and discard the mint.
  3. Transfer the syrup to a small bowl and chill for several hours or overnight.
  4. When ready to serve, stir together the syrup and bourbon in a pitcher.
  5. Add the chilled sparkling water and stir gently.
  6. Serve the punch over ice, garnished with fresh mint sprigs.
