Ingredients
- 2 oz tequila (blanco)
- 1 oz orange liqueur (Cointreau or triple sec)
- 1 oz lime juice
- 1.50 oz cream of coconut
- 1 cup ice
- 1 tablespoon toasted coconut
- 1 teaspoon lime zest
Instructions
- If toasting coconut, heat a sauté pan on medium heat and toast the coconut until golden brown.
- Garnish the rim of the glass with the toasted coconut by dipping the edge of the glass into the coconut mixture.
- In a blender, combine tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and cream of coconut.
- Add 1 cup of ice to the blender and blend until the margarita is thickened but still pourable.
- Pour the margarita into the garnished glass, being careful not to pour over the rim.
- Zest lime directly onto the top of the margarita.
