Whipped Citrus Fizz
Created by Henry C. Ramos, the Whipped Citrus Fizz, originally known as the New Orleans Fizz, is a classic cocktail that originated at the Imperial Cabinet Saloon. This delightful libation is a frothy, citrusy delight, perfect for any occasion. The unique combination of gin, citrus juices, cream, and soda water creates a velvety texture with a refreshing, effervescent finish.
Whipped Citrus Fizz
The Whipped Citrus Fizz is a classic cocktail with a velvety, frothy texture and a refreshing citrusy flavor.
Ingredients
- 2 oz Plymouth Gin
- 1 oz heavy cream
- 1 oz chilled soda water
- 1/2 oz lime juice
- 1/2 oz lemon juice
- 1/2 oz simple syrup
- 1 medium egg white
- 3 dashes orange-flower water
- 1 dash vanilla extract
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients, except the soda water, in a cocktail shaker.
- Use a Hawthorne strainer spring to help whip the ingredients.
- Shake vigorously for 5 minutes.
- Add ice and shake for another minute.
- Add the soda water to a chilled narrow highball glass and slowly strain the drink into the glass on top of the soda.
- Keep pouring until the foam of the drink is a good inch above the glass.
- Alternatively, a stick blender can be used to whisk the ingredients together. Then follow the other steps as above.
